Adrano

Adrano is located on the south-western slopes of Etna mount in a hilly zone alongside Catania plain in the eastern part and the river Simeto in the western part. The town, situated 560m above sea level, was founded by Dionysius the elder from Syracuse in 400 b.C.

It’s one of the most ancient settlements of Sicily. It has a Neolithic origin.

Monuments that enrich the old town  and the neighborhood are what remains of its long history, characterized by different dominations.

Feasts and events linked to religious and popular tradition, like processions and shows of Easter time, are very important.
